Our program provides students with a strong foundation in the theory and methods of sociological research. Faculty and graduate students are involved in several broad areas of sociological study, including: Race, ethnicity, gender, and class; Health, aging, and medical sociology; Crime, law, and social control; Nationalism, globalism, and sustainability; and Asia, Pacific and Hawaiʻi in regional and global contexts.
