Supervisory Special Agent Edward You of the FBI芒鈧刘蝉 will give a presentation and discussion entitled 芒鈧揝afeguarding Science and the Future.芒鈧
The presentation will focus on the future of biology addressing the promises and unique challenges in security involving health, cybersecurity and the economy. The presentation and discussion will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 10芒鈧11:30 a.m. in the Sullivan Conference Center at the .

You is responsible for creating programs and activities to coordinate and improve FBI and inter-agency efforts to identify, assess and respond to biological threats or incidents. These efforts include expanding FBI outreach to the life sciences community to address biosecurity. Before being promoted to the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate, You was a member of the FBI Los Angeles Field Office Joint Terrorism Task Force and served on the FBI .
You has also been directly involved in policy-making efforts with a focus on biosecurity. He served as a Working Group member for the Interagency Policy Committee on Countering Biological Threats and is a current Ex Officio member of the National Institutes of Health芒鈧刘蝉 . He also serves on two committees, the 芒鈧刘蝉 Forum on Microbial Threats and the Committee on Science, Technology and Law芒鈧刘蝉 Forum on Synthetic Biology.
