Kaka'ako Our Kuleana: Envisioning A Place for Everyone

is a free workshop series open to the public to learn about the development issues in Kakaâ€˜ako and to engage in innovative placemaking ideas for Kakaâ€˜akoâ€™s future.

This 6-week series of public workshops is intended to create a space for information sharing, dialogue and connection. We welcome everyone who is interested in Kakaâ€™ako to learn about the challenges and possibilities in these changing neighborhoods in our urban core. User-friendly planning ideas and tools will be shared to help us explore our kuleana as stewards of its future.

November 3: Envisioning A Place for Everyone: From the Shoreline to Small Businesses Â Â
The diversity of Kakaâ€˜ako means a diversity of needs and aspirations. What are the voices and visions for Kakaâ€˜ako and how can they be realized?

The 6-week â€œcourseâ€ is a series of public workshops to be held on 6 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. from October 13 until November 17, 2015. Each workshop includes presentations by experts in the field as well as interactive discussions and activities.

All sessions will be held at the Hawaiâ€˜i Community Development Authority community room, American Brewery building at 547 Queen St.

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning will be giving a certificate of completion to those who attend four or more workshops in the educational series.
