The Future of Elder Care: What We Need for a Changing America

Ai-jen Poo, a 2014 MacArthur 芒鈧揋enius芒鈧 award winner, is the Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Co-director of the Caring Across Generations campaign. She has been organizing immigrant women workers since 1996. This event is part of the Caring Across America tour, during which she will travel to 16 cities to spark the Care Conversations our families need to have and to build a movement to change the way we care in this country. Following the event is a book signing of Ai-Jen Poo芒鈧劉s new book, 芒鈧揂ge of Dignity芒鈧 provided by the UH Bookstore. There will also be a community panel discussion on DOMESTIC WORKERS AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN HAWAI芒鈧淚 and a reception with light refreshments from 5:15-7:00 pm. This event is co-sponsored by the Hawai芒鈧渋 State Commission on the Status of Women; Hawai芒鈧渋 Immigrant Justice Center at Legal Aid; William S. Richardson School of Law; Women芒鈧劉s League of Central Union Church; and Departments of Women芒鈧劉s Studies and Ethnic Studies.
