Celebrating Hōkūleʻa's 40th Anniversary

A celebration on the UH West O脢禄ahu campus to recognize H脜聧k脜芦le脢禄a芒鈧劉s first launch and its 40 year accomplishments, March 16-19.
The purpose of these events are mainly to honor H脜聧k脜芦le脢禄a and the Polynesian Voyaging Society's legacy and to promote its current mission of M脛聛lama Honua (caring for Our Island Earth) on campus and in our communities.

Talk Story with Keoni Lee, 芒鈧溍吪抜wi TV
at 芒鈧淯lu 芒鈧渦lu, UHWO Library 1st floor
Keoni Lee, co-founder of 芒鈧溍吪抜wi TV and a crew member of the H脜聧k脜芦le脢禄a M脛聛lama Honua Worldwide Voyage, will discuss the voyage and 芒鈧溍吪抜wi TV's efforts to document the journey using video, social media and other technologies. He will also discuss the importance of sharing H脜聧k脜芦le脢禄a芒鈧劉s story with Hawai芒鈧渋 and the world.

All are invited to a p脛聛芒鈧渋na celebration of H脜聧k脜芦le脢禄a and her 40 years of accomplishments. Come learn about Polynesian voyaging and the many ways H脜聧k脜芦le脢禄a has inspired people around the world. Enjoy music and light refreshments.

Talk Story with Elisa Yadao and Cliff Watson

Former television reporter Elisa Yadao and experienced camera man Cliff Watson will share their experiences documenting H脜聧k脜芦le脢禄a芒鈧劉s early voyages.
