However, networking is one of the most important tools in a career transition.Through networking, one can identify career pathways that align with their values, become proficient in the discourses of specific industries and career sectors, receive guidance from successful professionals working in the field, and are made aware of job opportunities in companies of interest. This virtual workshop is designed for doctoral students, PhDs, and postdocs from all academic disciplines who are wondering: -How does networking help me through the four stages of a PhD career transition? What kind of information can I gather through informational interviews and networking? -How do I develop SMART goals to begin conducting informational interviews with professionals in careers of interest? -How do I create a long-term networking strategy for subsequent phases of my job search?
