Hear Hawaiʻi: ԴDz Aliʻi, ԴDz Kānaka

December 15, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Lyon Arboretum, 3860 Manoa Rd

ԴDz Valley is home to the most legendary and shocking tales of all time. Join Kumu Anuhea Kānealiʻi of Hear Hawaiʻi to learn the stories of historic ԴDz and take part in an interactive sustainable activity for the entire ohana!

About the instructor: Growing up in ԴDz Valley, the beauty and mystery of this place are truly what sparked Kumu Anuhea Kānealiʻi’s curiosity and passion for moʻōlelo. Kumu Anuhea curated Hear Hawaiʻi in 2021 as a platform to amplify the voices and stories of Hawaiʻi that need to be heard; the land, water, plants, and animals. Ke aliʻi ka ʻāina ke kauwa ke kānaka. The land is chief, the people its servant. Ancient Hawaiians survived on these islands in the middle of the world’s largest ocean successfully for generations. Perhaps if we listen to the stories of the land we will learn how to best steward this place for our future generations to enjoy also.

Advanced registration and payment (both through Eventbrite) is required. Each keiki must be accompanied by an adult. (Only one adult per family is required to attend.)
