The City and County of Honolulu (CCH) Department of Facility Maintenance have been in the process of developing a stormwater utility (SWU) that will help CCH create a dedicated fund to invest in critical stormwater infrastructure operations, maintenance, and improvement projects. The proposed fee associated with the SWU will also provide incentives to property owners to reduce their stormwater runoff impacts. The presenters will share information regarding the SWU and the work to date with stakeholders, as well as introduce an innovative mobile app and data platform coined 鈥淔ollow the Drop鈥 that is being tested as a community engagement tool to support green stormwater infrastructure retrofits and the future SWU credit program.
