Public Workshop: Japan/Japanese Studies through a Southeast Asian Lens

Building on an initial meeting held in 2018 in Fukuoka, the "Japan/Japanese Studies Through a Southeast Asian Lens" workshop will explore the practical aspects of applying an "inter-area studies" approach to the study of Japan through an exchange of research papers and a sharing of research and teaching experiences among Japanese Studies and Southeast Asian Studies scholars based in academic and research institutions in the United States and Southeast Asian with the goal of paving the way for fruitful future collaboration in the field of Japanese Studies across the two regions.
The workshop will be held in the Pacific Room of the Imin Conference Center. It is free and open to the public.
