Hawai'i '78: Where We Went and Where We Go From Here

The 1978 constitutional convention had a profound impact on Hawai脢禄i. As we consider a 2018 vote on a new constitutional convention, John Waihe脢禄e III (delegate and governor) is leading a series of critical dialogues on the past and future impacts of Hawai脢禄i芒鈧劉s 1978 constitutional convention, bringing together delegates, scholars and community leaders. This dialogue focuses on how the 1978 constitution explores the connections between the con-con and the movement toward restoration of self-government.

Opening remarks will be by Gov. John Waihe脢禄e III, with panel responses to follow by: Jocelyn Doane, Office of Hawaiian Affairs; Ilima Long, UH M脛聛noa Native Hawaiian Student Services.

Light dinner will be served at 6:30pm.
