Students in CHEM 161 & 162 have saved $25K since Brent Rubio adapted a free OpenStax textbook last summer. Previously, students paid $297 for the required textbook.
HonCC is the only UH campus offering these free textbook CHEM courses. Honolulu, Leeward & Kapiolani are the 3 UHCC campuses tracking Textbook Cost: $0 classes in Banner.
Come to hear Brent share his experience teaching with OpenStax and get more information about Textbook Cost $0 from UH Open Educational Resources (OER) Team member Carol Hasegawa.
