In this century alone, K脛聛ne芒鈧渙he Bay has suffered extensive dredging, pollution, and near extinction of its coral reefs. To help understand and reduce the degradation of the bay, MarineGEO (Global Earth Observatory) Hawai芒鈧渋 芒鈧 a partnership between the University of Hawai芒鈧劉i and the Smithsonian Institute 芒鈧 serves to explore the intersections of science and indigenous knowledge, tapping into the traditional ecological knowledge developed over centuries in Hawai芒鈧渋 and its application to management and conservation.
