Hawaii: Catalyzing the US-ASEAN Partnership
On behalf of the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law and its ASEAN Law & Integration Center (ALIC), and the Asia-Pacific Law & Policy Journal (APLPJ), we write to invite you to attend the ALIC-APLPJ International Symposium on Governance, Development, and Civil Society, titled 芒鈧揌AWAII: CATALYZING THE US-ASEAN PARTNERSHIP芒鈧.
Our International Symposium will explore various questions on Hawaii芒鈧劉s possible role in the deepening US-ASEAN Strategic Partnership in the new era of rules-based economic integration of Southeast Asia 芒鈧 the most rapidly growing dynamic economic region in the world and to date, the largest net foreign direct investor (28% annual FDI growth) into the United States economy. On November 2015, the United States officially concluded a Strategic Partnership with ASEAN, culminating with the Obama Administration芒鈧劉s hosting of the US-ASEAN Summit last 15-16 February 2016, in Sunnylands, California. The ten Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) 芒鈧 Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Viet Nam 芒鈧 have, since January 2016, officially started the rules-based, single market integration of the ASEAN Economic Community.
