Soviet Children in World War II, part 2

The UH Russian Studies committee is hosting a three-day workshop on campus. The second part of the workshop will be presentations on the experience of Soviet children during World War II. On the first panel, Professor Helena Goscilo (Ohio State University) will present 芒鈧揤isual Variations on Victimization: The Child芒鈧劉s Plight in WWII芒鈧 and Professor Alexander Prokhorov (College of William and Mary) will present 芒鈧揇emilitarizing Soviet Culture: Representations of Civilians in the War Films of the 1940s and 1950s.芒鈧 On the second panel, Professor Anastasia Kostetskaya (UHM) will present 芒鈧揝oviet Teenagers as Forced Laborers in the Third Reich芒鈧 and Professor Yasha Klots (Georgia Institute of Technology) will present 芒鈧揟he Trinity of Martyrdom and Theodicy of Language in Varlam Shalamov芒鈧劉s 芒鈧淢andelshtam Cycle芒鈧劉.芒鈧
