Soviet Children in World War II, part 1

The UH Russian Studies committee is hosting a three-day workshop on campus. The second part of the workshop will be presentations on the experience of Soviet children during World War II. On the first panel, Professor Marina Balina (Illinois Wesleyan University) will present 芒鈧揝oviet Childhood during the Great Patriotic War: Sons of the Regiments, Ostarbeiter, and War Orphans in Contemporary Russian Literature芒鈧 and Professor Polina Barskova (Hampshire College) will present 芒鈧揝iege Childhood Written for Adults: The Curious Cases of Leonid Panteleev芒鈧劉s Short Stories and the Book of the Blockade.芒鈧 In the second panel, Professor Lisa Kirschenbaum (West Chester University) will present 芒鈧揜esilient Childhood and the Great Patriotic War芒鈧 and Professor Julie deGraffenried (Baylor University) will present 芒鈧揕oving the (Mother)Land: The Natural World, Children芒鈧劉s Culture, and the Great Patriotic War.芒鈧
