Dr. Lacy Gerhart Barley will discuss how annual tree-ring growth can tell us much about the environment in which the tree grows during this interesting Math+Science+x Seminar. Tree-ring width provides information on the quality of growing conditions during the year. Dr. Gerhart Barley will discuss how ring chemistry can be used to reconstruct nutrient cycling during the life of the tree. UH West O脢禄ahu students, faculty, staff and the community are encouraged to attend.
