Closing the Loop: Practical Applications for CORE Competencies Assessment

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) has specified written communication, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, information literacy and oral communication as the five core competencies needed for students to 芒鈧揵e successful at school, at work, and in their private and civic lives.芒鈧

This final edition of the Spring 2015 GEO/CTE series explores the 芒鈧揃ig Five芒鈧 and ways in which instructors can identify and enhance the core competencies in their classrooms. We will also be providing information about M脛聛noa芒鈧劉s current ssessment of the five competencies and ways in which some departments are 芒鈧揷losing the loop芒鈧 regarding these 芒鈧揾igher- order intellectual skills.芒鈧

Faculty presenters will also present ways to:
芒鈧 Use Quantitative Reasoning in the non-STEM classroom
芒鈧 Use writing to learn in STEM courses
