Voice of the Sea YouTube Watch Party
May 2, 12:00pm - 1:00pmMānoa Campus, virtual on YouTube
In the most recent episode of Voice of the Sea we are going to the deepest parts of the ocean with the Hadal Profiler, a new science tool being developed by University of Hawai鈥檌 researchers. The Hadal Profiler will dive down to the bottom of the deepest ocean trenches鈥攎easuring water chemistry, ocean currents, and sound as well as capturing video of ocean organisms as it goes, from the surface to 11,000 meters deep. We check out the profiler and some of its instruments, head to the lab to see organisms discovered in the deep ocean trenches, and meet some of the researchers, engineers, and students who are part of the Hadal Profiler development Team.
