"Mediation Training 2.0: Human + AI-Assisted Simulations"

February 22, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Online

"Mediation Professionals in the Field" presents: ************ "Mediation Training 2.0: Human + AI-Assisted Simulations" with Giuseppe Leone and moderated by Dick Mosher ************ About Session: Giuseppe Leone is a CRA Hawaii member and has been a volunteer mediator for the Mediation Center of the Pacific since 1997. Always intrigued by the intersection of online technology and mediation, Giuseppe will cover the following in a 1-hour webinar: - Demonstrate how mediators can practice and sharpen their skills through AI-assisted mediation simulations - independently, at any time, and at their own pace. - Clarify why AI tools like Google Bard and ChatGPT believe that mediators still require professional mediation training. - Welcome your feedback on how this opportunity could enhance classroom and online mediation training. ************ FOR WHOM THIS WEBINAR IS INTENDED: Mediation trainees, novice mediators, experienced mediators, and mediation trainers. ************ About Speakers: ************ Giuseppe Leone, a retired mediator in Hawaii, has practiced mediation since 1997. He utilized online video conferencing apps such as Skype and later Zoom to run extensive simulations with mediators around the world. He established a Virtual Mediation Lab, providing a platform for mediators to practice and refine their skills. In recent months, Giuseppe has made a noteworthy discovery. Mediators can now independently conduct AI ChatGPT-assisted mediation simulations at their convenience. In these simulations, ChatGPT assumes the roles of the parties, their lawyers, and even a concealed mediation 'Assistant'. ************ Dick Mosher is a Hawaii attorney, arbitrator, mediator, and current president of the Conflict Resolution Alliance in Honolulu. He is former CLO, General Counsel/Associate General Counsel of Loctronix, Ball Corporation, Maytag and Hoover. Dick is currently Senior Legal Advisor to The Vanguard Network in New York and a member of the BOD for the Association of Corporate Counsel Nevada Chapter and Small Law Department Network.
