Sustainable Solutions to Period Poverty

The UH Women's Center, along with International Women's Group, Pau Violence, and East-West Center Participants Association are hosting reusable pad workshops for people to utilize as an alternative to disposable menstrual products. Menstruating individuals and other community members are encouraged to come and sew pads and discuss menstrual equity and menstruation. This is a maka hana ka ʻike type workshop: Make & Take. All extra menstrual pads will be donated to local womenʻs shelters or shelters in the community. Switching to reusable menstrual pads are better for the environment, healthier than disposable pads, will help you save money and are sanitary and won’t leak. Please help us fight period poverty with sustainable solutions and join us on one or more of the following dates: January 19th, January 26th, February 9th, and March 9th 10:30 AM till pau Queen Liliuokalani Center for Student Services Room #412.
