Department of Theatre and Dance Kennedy Theatre Prime Time Series CASTING CALL Dance, Dance, Dance by Haruki Murakami Stage adaptation & direction by M.F.A Candidate Maggie Ivanova Auditions: Saturday, October 22, 1-4pm Sunday, October 23, 10am-12pm Men’s Dressing Room in Kennedy Theatre Set in Hokkaido, Tokyo, and Hawai‘i, Dance, Dance, Dance opens doors to “other” places. Represented by the warped, non-linear space-time of the Dolphin Hotel in Sapporo and an old multi-storied building in Downtown Honolulu, these “other” spaces contain the potential for personal healing by offering characters and audiences alike a chance to restore, rebuild, and rediscover a sense of self. Dancing becomes a metaphor for a fulfilling life. Having purpose, love, happiness is like a dance – we know all the moves, we just have to keep on moving, not letting go of our dance partners, for as long as the music plays.
